Office furniture certainly has changed now that we all need space on our desks to accommodate computers. It is not uncommon to have a desktop computer on one end of our desk and a laptop on the other. In fact, we almost expect a person to be high tech savvy so that we know they are efficient and on the ball. With all of this in mind, designers have created unique styles specifically built as computer furniture. These include holes for cables, brackets for office screens and sometimes built in accommodation for power outlets.
Office chairs are also built to be used as computer furniture. Computer keyboards and monitors must be set at a definite height so as to avoid injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome and reduce fatigue such as that of eyestrain. An interesting point is that even computer furniture is ever evolving. Monitors are smaller in depth but wider. Huge towers no longer exist and in many cases the actual hardware of the computer is built into the back of the monitor or even into the keyboard itself. Business furniture definitely has changed and will continue to change to meet the needs of information technology.
