Raising the level of office comfort through ergonomics

Perhaps you remember those clever initial attempts at creation of ergonomic office furniture? An idea for visual reminder is that they resembled small cushions and upholstered S’s. Initially it was thought that only extremely dedicated secretarial types would be willing to prop themselves onto these futuristic chairs day after day. Indeed the popularity of these initial prototypes waned almost instantly. Still the concept of ergonomic furniture moved on steadily since its inception and has now found itself incorporated into almost every office chair or desk designed and built. Clever thing too, for the onslaught of baby boomer middle age has created an immense demand for comfortable chairs with ergonomic design elements.

This coupled with the requirement from the information technology industry that workers sometimes sit at their desk in their chair for what seems to be days at a time has resulted in a demand for quality ergonomic office furniture, especially chairs and desks, that allow greater comfort. Adjustable chair heights, lower and upper back support and even adjustable arms are all designed so as to specifically fit a variety of body shapes and styles and reduce office worker fatigue.
